As part of the big 2013 adventure, we stumbled into Austria from the Czech Republic. A 3 hour drive through wonderful countryside ( that resembled Canada quite a bit despite the mountainous backdrop ), brought us from Cesky Krumlov to Salzburg. The highest percentage of Billionaires per capita live in Salzburg, including the Red Bull Baron, who built a very cool glass office in the mountains about an hour outside the city. However, strangely enough, it never dawned on us that we were in the land of the Sound of Music, which then hits you ...

This past summer I had the pleasure of venturing on an expedition that lead me to wherever I was going. That was the whole point. I have always wanted to do a trip that had no rules, no itinerary, no car and full of distractions. Together with my wife, we set off on an adventure that took us to 9 countries in total, with the first stop being a place I have longed to see since I first saw the INXS video for "Never Tear Us Apart". Funny how things like that stick with you ...

Birds of Ontario

I have had the pleasure of travelling all over this huge province, and spending quite a great deal of time "up north". I have always been fascinated by the landscape and the wildlife, but only recently have I really noticed and taken an interest in the vast wild that live in the skies. My dad used to point out the Blue Heron from the fishing boat all the time, as it is an elusive bird ( and I don't have a picture of it here). It is the most prehistoric looking bird that I have ...

Canada's Parliament

Recently I had the pleasure of taking the long, long, long road from Downtown Ottawa, out to Scotiabank Place to see the Sens take on the Lightning. Good game, Sens won in overtime and the bar bill could have payed for another trip to Ottawa, gas, tickets and hotel. Anyway, the treat was that we got to watch it from the Owners Box, which is cool. Despite the royal treatment at the Sens game though, the real experience ( and treat as always ) was to visit Capital Hill and see the Parliament buildings. For ...

Art Shows

In going through all my old artwork and photos, I have come accross some show posters that I have from over the years. These are the postcards and postcard images that I used to promote and market the shows. I know there are some missing, but I will try and post them when I find more in the future. I will also add to it with future shows, hopefully. Maybe you were at one of these shows? Maybe at all of them? -Fitzy ...

Carnaval Du Quebec 2011

For the past 2 years now, I have attended Carnaval in Quebec. If anyone needs some insight into why this 2 week event is so spectacular, ask anyone who has ever attended. Although it is a family oriented festival, the adults are definitely not overlooked. The nightlife is great and the bars and restaurants are all involved. Walking the streets of Quebec Vieux ( Old Quebec ) gives you an opportunity to try some traditional Quebecois fare. The cheeses, and dishes consisting of different ways to prepare rabbit ( such as pate and sausage ) ...

I recently completed a Graphic Novel for the WTJHS. It was done in time for the Junction Arts Festival, the yearly event and pinnacle of Bohemian good times in the Junction. The story is based on the real-life character, named Josiah Royce - the first Police Chief of the Junction. It was written by Neil Ross, also a member of the WTJHS, and illustrated by yours truly. Although we don't have as much as we would like on Royce himself, we were able to trace his roots back to Alberta, as a Northwest Mounted Policeman ...
